SeaWorld Orlando appears to be making some progress when it comes to improving ride operations throughout the park, something that guests have been hoping to see for quite some time.
In a recent email to annual passholders, SeaWorld Orlando President Brad Gilmour discussed the park’s commitment to improving the overall guest experience. Based on reports we’ve received from the park, it looks like some of those efforts may already be underway.
During a visit on October 12, a guest reported several positive observations involving three of the park’s major roller coasters. Manta was operating with both loading stations in use, allowing crews to load and unload trains more efficiently. Over at Kraken, trains were running without stacking, meaning returning trains weren’t having to wait outside the station for the previous train to depart.
Perhaps the most interesting observation came from Ice Breaker, where dispatch times were reportedly averaging around 75 seconds. A supervisor was also seen actively monitoring the ride crew, offering guidance on how to speed up operations and improve efficiency. According to the guest, the team appeared to be doing a good job keeping things moving.
Of course, this is only one day’s worth of observations, and we’ll have to see whether these improvements continue, especially during busier days at the park. Faster dispatches and better loading procedures can make a real difference in how quickly lines move, even without adding additional ride capacity.
It’s encouraging to hear reports like these, particularly following Brad Gilmour’s recent communication with passholders. Hopefully, this is something we’ll continue to see across SeaWorld Orlando as the park works toward providing a better experience for its guests.
